Davis Kim
I’m Davis and I write software for machines: PLC code, machine vision, and the robot and database work that sits around them. I studied computer science at UC Riverside and I’m a Software & Controls Engineer at Sorenson Engineering in Yucaipa, CA, where the main thing I own right now is the software for a vision-guided palletizing robot that’s in daily production. Outside work I built a site for a plumbing contractor in Riverside, and I’m slowly putting together an aromachemical reference for perfumers. Claude Code and Codex write a lot of the first draft; working out what is actually correct is still mine. The part of the job I think about most is what happens when something goes wrong: how a machine fails, how it recovers, and who is allowed to change what.
